This has happened twice on my 7130 and I don't know what it is. Is looks like an arrow pointing up and it covers the battery icon completely. It is not the up load and down load arrows or the shift. I pulled my blackberry out to answer a phone call and then read a new email. When I open the email all I can do is select text if I scroll. I had to reboot the unit to get the arrow off. The only other time this happened was a couple of months ago, I had been outside all day with it in my pocket. It had been onlyaround 2 degrees outside that day so I was thinking it had something to do with the cold. I pulled it out of my pocket later and the arrow was gone. Anybody got any info about this?

No I didn't call them yet. Figured I get a better answer here then from them.

I think you are referring to the shift arrow. I can duplicate the arrow but not on the main screen, only when I am in a text entry field. I have seen this happen from time to time but don't have any great ideas how to get rid of it when it's stuck.

...simply go back into a text field and either push the alt key again or push the number shift.

I tried to push the alt key in an email. It would switch to numbers or the other arrow but would still only select text. This was not the double arrow like the shift one, this arrow was one big arrow pointing up and it covered all the battery icon.

Maybe calling RIM will provide an explanation. After all, it is their device

Happened to me once, I just ripped the battery out and reset it, hasn't happened again...yet
