To be able to sync your BlackBerry with your Hotmail account you have to pay to upgrade your account to Hotmail Plus. Either that or simply forward the messages from Hotmail to your BlackBerry.

I had hotmail and I couldn't find any way to forward them to my BlackBerry. E-mail isn't important in my life so I just simply changed to g-mail, that way I CAN forward all of my messages to my BlackBerry.

one neat little feature of using GoogleTalk with an MSN jabber client transport is that you get near-instant notification when an email hits your hotmail inbox. since MSN Mobile navigates smoothly in the BB Browser, a quick surf gets you to the message (should you deem the sender and subject worth an immediate read).

you can then assign all essential mailings to gmail for standard push-pull, and leave the non-urgent notices to hotmail.

Hotmail Plus only allows the use of hotmail with select mail clients (outlook, outlook plus, entourage among them). And there is no provision anywhere within hotmail to forward messages.

Three options - there's a bb hotmail viewer, can't remember the name but I used it on my 7100. It sort of stunk.

You can also pay for a service, can't remember the exact name but google btx-eznet and you should find it. It allows you to POP into hotmail accounts. No push to blackberry, but you could have the bb poll the account regularly (it's what I do on my Treo 650).

Third option - leave a computer with your (hotmail compatible) mail client running 24x7, and set up a rule to redirect hotmails to your bb push email account(s).

I changed from Hotmail and Yahoo mail because there was very little that could be set up with the Blackberry. I use Gmail now as well, and love it. The emails are directly pulled to the device. As for the actual user interface (accessing via internet), it is very nice and contains a lot of memory. I cant find one reason that I would go back to hotmail or yahoo

I have both my Hotmail and Gmail accounts sending to my BB. I set up forwarding on Gmail to my blackberry.net email address. I was able to set up my Hotmail account (I have Hotmail Plus) as follows: log on to the Blackberry webclient. Click on the "Email Accounts" link. Click 'Add Account' and enter your Hotmail email address and password. I chose the 'leave mail on server' option. I assume it's just POPping my Hotmail Email, but I don't know how often the POP interval is, nor how to change it. It does get the email to my Blackberry, however.

I too have hotmail, 7100i, and service with nextel. I set it up online through there website it works seemlessly. I am not certain if there is any delay but if there is it cannot possibly be too long.

I have a hotmail plus account that I used (about 6 months ago) with a 7250 with Verizon. It worked flawlessly, though I can remember the exact configuration or behavior.

I likely will soon be getting a 7130x with Alltel or Verizon that I very much look forward to getting that ability back.

I have Hotmail Plus and it sends the emails about every 5-10 mins to my CB. If you have any problems, let me know.

Free yahoo and hotmail will not sync and can not be added via BIS if you are a Cingular customer. Some other providers allow it.....however gmail does work and works great and love it. Easy to export/import from yahoo and hotmail into gmail as well.

could I not simply create a gmail account, and then have all of my hotmail emails forwarded to the gmail account automatically- which would then arrive on my T-mo 8700g? Or is it not possible to do that?

My school email account auto-forwards itself to my Hotmail account- wouldnt the same idea apply?

Don't think the free version of hotmail offers that.

if you are receiving your hotmail messages to your 'berry, please fill in the blanks:

I use regular old hotmail with my Cingular BIS account and my hotmail messages are polled to my blackberry 8700c.

I seem to recall back when M$ started hotmail plus that some of us old hotmail users were grandfathered somehow. I also had no problem setting up hotmail on Outlook, which I understand is no longer available.
