| Since your old account is out of contract, I would call Venicom (the USHOPWIRELESS company) and talk to them about it, just to have them notate in your account that you would still receive the appropriate rebates.
Once Venicom receives the units, they activate/assign all of them with a number. I spoke to a rep b/c I want to have as much choice as possible in choosing my new number, and she specifically assigned me a number NOT in my area so I could call later and tell them I need to change it to a local number.
I don't exactly know the policy of number portability, ie, who owns the number once a contract/service is discontinued. If it's possible, just cancel your TMO account and go back to them with the same number?
Or... wait 5 days, port your number to a different provider, and within a 14 day policy port it back over to TMO through Venicom. Just make sure Venicom knows you want to do a port. |
