Question LED not recognizing profile settings

Please Login to Remove!

On occassion I have an SMS come in without my LED flashing red. It flashes green but when I check, there is a missed SMS. THe profile is set up crrectly and the actve profile in every case (yes, i double checked) did have LED on as a reminder.

Has anyone else experienced this?

That seems to be a bug with the 8700c. Last night, I had it happen the other way for me. I received a PIN and when i opened it, my LED kept flashing red. I imagine that this will be resolved in future upgrades, provided that RIM is made aware of these issues

Messenger seems to be very buggy with respect to this as well- both on the 8700 and 7290. Opened messages often don't cancel the flashing red LED.

True. This has happened to me several times within the past few days. Although, that seems to be the only bug that I have found other than Task filtering

ok.. this problem is becomming a pain. It seems that no matter the type of alert and despite all settings being a-ok, the red led does not flash for more than 20-30 minutes after receiving any type of message/alert. It just reverts back to the green flashing LED. it doesn't discriminate based on type of message, time of day, etc.

has anyone else experienced this? The problem seems to have gotten worse since i upgraded to the newest rogers firmware, although it could just be my imagination.

Thanks

Shane

The flashing green has nothing to do with messages, it is your signal indicator and will flash green to indicate that you are in range of a signal. I turn off the signal indicator, so that it does not interfere with the message LED. Also the red flasher will only flash for a certain amount of time, not in perpetuity until you check your message.

that wasn't previously the case, however. previously the red indicator would flash indefininately until messages were checked and then default back to the green flashing LED.

Furthermore it had started with only certain types of messages while others would continue flashing red.

My 8700r does the same thing (sometimes red LED does not activate with new msgs), but not lately. Do a hard reset and the problem seems to go away... And by the way, the LED always stays lit RED until the new message is opened. Always did on my 7800 and 7290 as well.

Actually..thats not true. It may blink for a period of 10-15 mins only, unless you have a 3rd party app.

Hopefully in future releases, it will be an option to flash red for 15 mins or until the message is checked.
