Default Cingular 8700 time and date sync?

I can't seem to find if this works on the blackberry but it would be pretty disapointing if it didn't. Most phones sync with the network and automaticly change the date and time when it connects to the network. Especially useful when traveling from time zone to time zone. Can this not be done with Cingular and the 8700?
