I had a few scratches on my screen that my OCD was kicking in. I read some bad reviews on Displex not working, so I decided to try out some automotive products. I got a clear plastic cleaner and polish, named "PlastX" by Meguiar's. it worked GREAT! all you need to do is apply a little bit of it on the surface of your screen and rub strongly with a cotton cloth. Make sure your screen is not directly LCD and has a plastic coat over it (like the 7100t), cause this stuff isn't made for LCDs.
go to Car Care Products: Car Waxes to Leather Cleaners, Meguiar's the Leader in Car and Surface Care since 1901 to look it up

Now a tip, take your BB apart and do it whith the case off particulary if you are doing it on an 8700 since the screen is not recessed making it harder to control to just the screen. I had a long scratch on my screen and it took three diferent tries to remove it altogether but it worked fine. I used it sparingly like the directions said, and only with the cloth supplied nothing else will do. It takes a lot of buffing, most people tire and do not complete the process and that is another reason it will not work. Use a circular motion and work all the screen not just the affected area to get an even smooth application.

I am not encouraging anyone to try this specially if you have to take it apart, just stating what I did and how Idid it to ge t the results I did. I read about this from a moderatr here in one of his posts ordered it and the rest is history.
Were you using displex on an 8700 when you got good results? I want to buy it but am holding off until I hear from someone that used it on an 8700. I used to have a 7290 and it seemed like that one had a different type of screen, so I want to be sure before I buy it. Thanks!
