im looking to add my aol email address to my 8700,im on the correct screen,im typing in the email addrss,but why does it ask me for a user name then a password ?sorry,im a newbie.

I've asked this before and was told you can't transfer AOL to your BlackBerry. I've tried.

its asking for your aol email address user name and password so it can authenticate..here are instructions if you have a BIS Acct and are a cingular wireless customer




Prerequisites:

New Users: Creating a new BlackBerry Internet Service account.
Existing Users: Logging into the BlackBerry Internet Service.
A valid username and password for the AOL accounts.
Users must disable Parental Controls on AOL for this to function properly.
Users must NOT be logged in to AOL at the time of set up.
Note: Up to 10 e-mail accounts can be integrated through the Blackberry Internet Service.

Integrating an AOL account:

Access the BlackBerry Internet Service at www.cingular.com/blackberrystart.


Select Profile.


Select "Customize your settings to receive messages from other email account".


Select Add Account.


Enter the appropriate email settings and select Submit.


Email Address:
User Name: user defined
Password: user defined
Re-enter Password: user defined

A checkmark on the account confirms it has been configured.


New e-mail will be sent to the RIM BlackBerry device and will also be available on the BlackBerry Internet Service account by clicking on Inbox.

wow,thanks im going to try it.as for the user name and password its asking for is it referring to the user name and id i had to create when i created the @mycingular.blackberry.net email address?

when you are integrating a IMAP/POP3 account and it asks for the user name and password during the integration, its asking for the uname and pw for the email account you are trying to integrate..so basically your aol username and pw...


check out tutorials.cingular.com and follow the links for BB help, step by step walks you through it all

wow,ive been at work for an entire 5 minutes and was able to add my 3 aol email addresses to my 8700.what a breeze. thanks alot!
