You pretty much need to use BES for that. Lots of folks ask this question and I don't recall seeing any way other than BES to accomplish true e-mail synchronization.

Well, first, it's not the BES only option for email synchro

BES is needed for PIM (task, calendar, contacts) synchro OTA (over the air)

Email reconciliation OTA is possible with BIS and BES

Set up your BIS (Blackberry Internet Solution) account and you can then use the Blackberry Desktop Software to synchronise PIM data

so, go to your carrier website - find your BB - there should be links for the following :
- Blackberry Desktop Software
- Blackberry Internet Solution
(should be something like "www.(yourcarrier).com/blackberryemail

Also, i would stronlgy recommend to search this site first, before posting a question.. since this has already been answered a gazillion times.

BIS is certainly an option to get e-mail to the BB, but I wouldn't at all consider it synchronizing. From the sound of the original question, I assumed he wants more control than BIS will give him.

Funny sig line!

Sorry, to my knowledge, BB will not let you do that (copy emails from the BB to the inbox)

But, you can search the forum on how to setup your BB as a modem to connect to internet. Then your PC will use the BB as a modem to get it's messages.
