Ok, SureType is cute ... but I could hammer out email replies *SO* much faster if I just hit a key once for the first letter and twice for the second. SureType is trying to guess what I'm typing and changing it, causing me to constantly stop, toggle the wheel to get back to the original text I needed, and the start back typing again.

There's GOT to be a way to turn this off on a 7130e? Anyone know?

Start composing an e-mail or note or task or something.
Press and hold the * key
It will change you from Suretype to tap mode.

And, if I was a betting man, I'd bet you'll come back to Suretype. Haven't met a person yet who uses tap consistently over Suretype..

c'mon NJ, suretype is prety tough, especially if your a mini qwerty master. i tried my damndest but could not adapt. and you can turn it off for good under option>phone options...

I read that in another FAQ, but it didn't work for me on my 7130e ... I get nothing when I press or press & hold the * key.

The key to suretype for common words is to just not look at the screen and type out the word. If you watch the word as you type it will take you on a short drive to crazy. Suretype will learn a lot of your commonly used words and with very few exceptions you will not need to touch the jog dial.

Just keep typing. Don't stop and look at the words to see if that's the word you're looking for! Just keep typing. 95% of the time it'll be right. There's no way multi-tap is faster.
