Default 7105T and desktop manager

I know I this will be obvious to some, but once I install the desktop mgr onto my laptop and start outlook, how does the software interact with my Bb.

I am trying to get my hotmail and my gmail into outlook, but I don't know what pop and sme and all the other info they ask me. Can someone help me with this obvious problem?

Thanks in advance for the newbie love. . .
