i just got my bberry 7290 from tmo.com i'm wondering why my device wont let me change the contrast settings. actually theres no option where i can change that setting on my tools/screen/keyboard option. is there something wrong with my device? coz the manual and the phone help tells me i can adjust it from tools.

I knew that you could change the screen brightness, but I did not know that the contrast could be changed.

Default brightness

well i cant adjust the brightness either. except from the power button. i want to keep it on a single brightness settings. so that i dont have to keep pressing the power button. the contrast is way too dark for my old eyes :(

Hmmm. Dont know why it wouldnt be there. The 7290 has two backlight settings, low and bright. I am not sure that you can have it default to bright all the time, unless I am misunderstanding you.

You can't, you can use BBLight (Please search for it) and it will default to the low level backlit.
