You are right it is hard to make out but you can sort of see the cingualr logo.
Its not custom.

The battery cover looks blue not black.

SmartPhoneDepot had a few of the hi-cap battery doors for the 8700R a while back. They looked pretty cool on the 8700C, but this one doesn't look so hot. And the seller's rating is not so good either .

Definitely an 8700c - looks just like mine, but with the r battery door - and as stated you can see the Cingular logo. Unless something else he hasn't stated is truly "custom" then the seller is full of it, or has no idea what he's talking about.

You can submit fraudulent seller reports with eBay, but they have to be pretty obvious and blatant to stick.
