Default How to sync with Outlook?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. I am very new to BB.
So, bear with me if this sounds dumb.
Can you sync BB 8700 with Outlook? I read something on the manual saying something about exporting and then importing the data or something.
But, that's not what I am looking for. Can it sync without doing exporting and importing? Can BB sync with calendar, contacts, and so on?

Or, do I need to purchase some sort of program to do this?
If yes, do you know where I can find it?

By the way, I am not trying to sync it wirelessly. I used to using Palm. I can update with USB cable. I don't need any access to company email. I only want to update my school emails.

Works like a champ. Open the BB Desktop Manager. Click on the Synch and then configure. You need to configure each app (mail, claendar, address, etc) to synch with Outlook. Then hit Synchronize Now.

Also do a search on "Synch with Outlook" and you will get some additional info.

Hi. I have a quick question. When I installed my blackberry, all I saw was small screen with intellisync. Is that BB desktop manager? Is there software like Palm Desktop, where you can see your data in your BB such as calendar, contacts, and so on? Thanks.

If you loaded the Desktop Manager you will see an icon on your desktop. Double-click it and the Intellisync setup is found within the desktop manager.

Default Follow Up Question re: Outlook Sync

hi all,

new to BB ( recently purchased a 8700) and new to forums , so excuse me in advance. i've done the sync to outlook , but the address book doesn't import all the info from the BB to the desktop ( i've enter a bunch of contacts on the BB while traveling) ex. doesn't include the postal addresses for contacts or the entire email address. do I need to do something else to insure that all the contact info is imported and the same on both desktop and handheld? thanks much.

Of course! Desktop Manager/Intellisync is designed for this. It is included on the CD that shipped with your Blackberry. If you don't have the CD, visit RIM's site and download desktop manager.

There is no equivalent to Palm Desktop included with the Blackberry software. Outlook is your best bet.

You shouldn't have to do anything extra. It sounds like Intellisync isn't doing its job. Try going into Intellisync, remove Outlook contacts, re-add and sync. If that doesn't resolve it, I'm not sure what to do. Is everything else (calendar, notes, tasks) syncing properly?

A question along this thread. I recently purchased a 7100i for the wife and we are trying to share a outlook 2003 profile for the calendar. When I plug my blackberry in it syncs fine with our joint calendar, but when I plug hers in, it won't let me choose that profile to synch with. I can change profiles but cannot select the same profile that I am using. Any ideas?

Could anyone explain why Intellisync won't let me sync my calendar to my blackberry? When I try to set it up, I tell it to use ms outlook. It asks me to pick the file and then shows folder but won't let me open any of them. I'm stuck right there. I'm using 'outlook connector'. Is that the problem? I've tried everything that I can think of. I've made back-up copies of the calendar and still Intellisync won't find them.

The only options I can sync in Outlook (not on BES) are Address Book, Calendar, Tasks, Memo ... I cant sync Mail.

Should I be able to?

No. The BlackBerry does not sync Mail.

E-Mail is forwarded to a BlackBerry via one of several methods, and then reconciled. But there is no way to sync your e-mail.

Couldn't find this with a search.

How do I sort contacts alphabetically by last name? It is on first name mode.

If you mean on your device then,

Address book xxx8211; click trackwheel xxx8211; options xxx8211; Sort By:

How about syncing a BB via bluetooth. Both my Dell Laptop and BB 8700c have bluetooth and are paired and trusted.

How do I get them to sync my outlook stuff now.....

On the surface I'd have thought it would have been a case of changing the Connection Settings in BDM from the usual USB to Bluetooth. However despite my PC and Bluetooth being successfully paired I get the error "device not found"

Update: I resolved this by replacing the Widcomm driver with the Generic Windows Bluetooth driver.

hey you guys, new to a BB here. I just came from a tmobile MDA (cing 8125) and i've alwasy synced my mda to my outlook. Now when i try and sync my new 8700 its not letting me do so. Everytime i press the sync button it really doesn't do anything at all.

i always get the intellisync warning:

Intellisync is currently unavailable for:

calender, memo pad, address book, and tasks

because the application(s) is (are) configured for wireless synchronization. Desktop synchronization for the above application(s) will be disabled.

Please click "help" for information on how to disable wireless synchronication on your device

then when i click the help button i get the topic does not exist. Contact your application vendor for an updated help file. (129

any idea on how to get around this?

I've set it all up so that all 4 of those things are synced via ms outlook. I'm so confused!

In each of these applications on your device, go to options and turn Wireless Synchronization to xxx8220;Noxxx8221;.
