Looking for some good feedback on instant messenger program for 8700 that is compatible with AOL Instant Messenger. Heard Ramble IM was good, but had socket issues logging on after downloading it. Any others?
If this question was answered elsewhere, please direct me to where. Thanks.
Ramble is fine. I have had no issues and since I dont IM that much, its free, making it just right for me. Search for IM and you can find multiple threads regarding IM applications and who prefers what and why. Good luck

I just updated my page at my tips site on IM clients. They are plenty that work well. Consider the pricing model and the key features that you need - history, shortcuts etc.
Tried to find Yak on and couldn't. I did find Ramble and that is problematic. Seems i keep getting some kind of "invalid connection string" on the 8700. I looked around and find some TCP setting changes which I implemented but to no avail.....anyone can help with the initial install of Ramble and TCP settings?
I was/am a big user of Yak-On, it is an awesome product. But I have also found myself lately using GoogleTalk to show AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. It is nowhere as feature rich as Yak-On is, but I do find it hold a connection as well if not better than Yak-On. GoogleTalk is free, but as for the pay-for products out there, Yak-On is the best deal!
I like Verichat--although it is expensive. I prefer it because of its setup and also because it was the only app that I didn't have trouble with. Most of my problems with other IM programs were probably user related...however...Verichat seems to be working just fine for me. *crosses fingers*
