| MMS is a carrier-dependent allowance on the device.
my T-Mo 7105t and its predecessor, the 7100t, both allowed MMS (via Service Books) following the 4.0 upgrade. this feature is still available using the HKCSL4.1 as well.
i can receive MMS-sent pics from any handset using Cing and T-Mo, being sent directly to my MIN. i can even send an MMS directly from my handset, from within the PhotoAlbum or even the straightforward "Compose MMS" menu option within Messages.
the limitations are, again, imposed by your carrier. SprintPCS and VZW traditionally use a very awkward messaging system (separate from voice technologies) that may not translate well onto BB services. i don't have many friends that avail themselves of CDMA wireless services, so my penkberry has yet to attempt MMS acceptance by yellow or red.
as for what RIM may state as handset capabilities, carriers historically limit full functionality, most notably Cing and VZW.
call your carrier's Care line for support. |
