Default Not getting emails in Hawaii and then Cali

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I am trying to help out on my doctors that I work for and recently he went to Hawaii for a little vacation. While on vacation he noticed that he did not get any emails. The same thing was happening when he got back to the mainland( California ).

He finally started to get his emails about 24 hours after getting back over to the east coast. Anyone know why that would happen? Anything maybe I could do to make sure that this does not happen again or should I just assume that he does not get email service in Hawaii or at LAX.

Thanks for the help.

Go to Options > Network. Check that it is set to Automatic instead of Manual.

All the providers have presence in Hawaii, but there are a couple of exceptions. On Lana'i, Nextel is the only service provider, and on all the islands, there are dead spots all over the place.

I just spent 5 years on Oahu, and travelled to Maui, Hawaii, Lana'i and Kauai at various times for business. I used a 7510 for a year or so, and have been on a 7100T for about a year.

The infrastructure is there; there is no reason why he shouldn't get email while in Hawaii.

One of my users recently had an issue with non-receipt of emails (BB7290) while in California - I had her pop the battery out and back in and communications resumed...
