Hi Folks,

I've got a slightly crippled 8700g from T-Mobile Germany. The Browser is called "T-Zones" which seems to be a modified version of the "standard" BB Browser.

When I access "mobile.blackberry.com" to download content (e.g. free games) it tells me that I should visit the page with the BB Browser...

So my questions are: How can I get to this page? How can I access the content there? Can I get the "real" Browser somehow?

BTW: Surfing the page with Opera Mini also doesn't work.

TIA

Greetings

I have no idea how T-Mobile configure the 8700g in Germany. The only thing that I can suggest is Show All icons (homescreen: press the alt key, click the trackwheel and select from the menu). See if the browser is there but hidden. If so do the same alt-click operation to Show Application. Alternatively, if the homescreen hot keys are enabled (i.e. dial from Homescreen disabled), try pressing B and see if the original Browser opens.

Hi!

Thanks for your suggenstions.

I can only press Alt-Dial when on one specific icon - then I only can hide or move this specific icon.

Changing the theme the browser appears but is somehow crippled as I said. When I start the browser the t-zones homescreen appears and when I surf to mobile.blackberry.com RIM doesn't know the browser (or thinks that I've got a unit with an OS < 3.7) - but it seems to be "the right" browser (maybe they changed the identification-line of the browser). Hmmm...

Greetings

As a prosumer client of T-Mobile Germany there is no way to get the BlackBerry Browser on the device. You have to stick with WAP broswer.
The only option to get the BB Browser is to switch the prosumer for an enterprise BB and get a BES Hosting account.
Which of the games do you want to install? I could provide you with a direct link, this should allow you to install the games.

There should also be a Show All option...?

If your Browser appears in another theme but is crippled, you have a problem. The only other possibility I can think of (this is a long-shot) would be to sign on to your Blackberry Internet Service home page from a computer, go into Profile, and Send Internet Browsing Service Book. It can't hurt to try.

T-Mobile Germany does not offer the BlackBerry Internet Service Book. There is no option at the BIS-Homepage of T-Mobile Germany to send these service books.

Hi!

Is it really just a WAP-Browser? It seems to show all sites correct. Checking the USER_AGENT String gives the following Information:

Browser Name: BlackBerry
Platform Name: BlackBerry
Browser Version: 4.0 BlackBerry8700/4.10 Profile/MDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/114

Thank you for your offer. I'd like to have the free games offered at mobile.blackberry.com - there seems to be no other way to get them.

TIA

Greetings

You are welcome.
Yes, as far as I know it is just a WAP browser.
Give me a few minutes and I will post links to all free games.
Btw, don't forget to check the German BlackBerry Community at www.blackberry-forum.de
