| | MDS, Internet and OS upgrade questions from a noobie

I know these questions have likely been asked several times, but finding direct answers to all of them would probably take me 10 times as long as it would for one of you helpful, knowledgeable folk to answer them. I've already done a great deal of searching as it is.
As such, I am throwing myself at the mercy of the forum for what I hope are three easy questions:
1) I've read a great deal about MDS, both as a way to avoid usage charges from Cingular for use of wap applications as well as for improved internet browsing. Assuming that I have MDS enabled (I do have a checkmark next to "Desktop [IPPP]" under Options>Advanced Options>Services), is there a specifif one of the three browsers that I should be using in order to get the benefit of MDS? If so, which one? Is it preferred enough that I can get rid of the other two internet browser icons on my desktop?
2) I saw in this thread: blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=2185 a way to ensure "full" internet access by making changes to the APN settings. The APN settings on my Blackberry are blank. Again assuming that I have MDS, is there any benefit for me in making the APN changes suggested in that thread? I'm on Cingular in Boston if that matters.
3) I'm strongly considering upgrading my OS to bharti as I am somewhat disappointed with the voice quality on the 8700 and I understand that the upgrade may improve the voice quality. Will performing the upgrade interfere with my existing corporate BES account (i.e. will I have to repeat the procedure to get added to my corporate BES)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
