Default Wierd reception issue with 8700c

I had an 8700c that worked fine but had the dreaded dust issue. I went to a Cingular store and contrary to what alot of people have seen, they handed me a new one. Worked fine until I flew from Texas to LA. Then messages started backing up on each other, occassionally coming through. So I sent my IT support group into a long process trying to determine what was going on. Finally I go to Cingular store in LA, and they call their support group who is shocked that I am in LA. My unit in some way was still communicating with a tower in Dallas! They changed the tower manually somehow, and it worked...until I flew again and the same thing happened. And they won't give me a new one this time since I can't find my original receipt! Funny if it wasn't true. I have temporarily switched back to a 7290 and will see if the same thing happens when I fly again.

Has anyone had this happen?

You might try updating the OS. See the themes forum. My reception is better with the update to Bharti. I didn't think GSM worked the same way as VZ does. Good luck.
