Default RESERVING an 8700g

Please Login to Remove!

So I called a few stores in my area, and one store took my name and said they will hold one for me on Monday... another said.."we open at 10am on Monday, and have limited available".. but won't reserve one for me..

Guess where i am going to on Monday? hehe Very excited!

What is ironic about this is that the one that will reserve it, told me they got in 5-10 for Monday AND are a mall store.. the one that won't reserve a phone is considered a 'corporate store' .

It doesn't seem like the coporate stores have a rock solid policy. A group of people in several threads have said their coporate store wouldn't hold it for them because it is against their store policy. Then there are several people including myself that didn't have a problem with the coporate store reserving one for them. My guy wrote my name on the box with a sharpy, I'm feeling pretty confident that mine is reserved for me.

I think they do what they feel like. They're not on commision, so they don't care either way. My guy actually seemed interested in new products including the 8700. Maybe that's why he hooked me up.

It seems that customer service is hugely based on what the representative feels like doing.

I get that all the time with my cell phone, befriend a rep - they will hook you up with upgrades when things go wrong. Call the service if you have an issue and sometimes you will get someone who will sit on the phone with you for an hour helping you out - or who will give you a different number because they don't feel like addressing it.

When I got my bb, I was on the phone with a cingular techie for one hour - he was helping me figure out a few issues. And we got them resolved and working. It was awesome that he was so patient.

This is probably because you are a girl, because cingular has the WORST tech support ever for blackberries HANDS DOWN -- thier solution to everything is toe remove the battery and put it back in..

and about holding the blackberry....the store near my house is also no good...i asked them to hold one for me and the clerk offered to put my name then his manager comes out and refuses to hold one for me and says i must be the first 4 customers in the door monday am

Agreed - the reservation policy is a bit sketchy. That's why I plan on being there when they open tomorrow - I don't want to take any chances.

Liv's a girl?

My opinion is that she/he got the Chaplain thing working and thence Divine Intervention.
