For those of you who already have your 8700g's, what are you using to protect the screen?

we have some 8700G unbranded ones and 8700V from UK. Both are using the "G" version from Screenpatronus. Fits perfect. same as 8700C material.

I happen to have some 8700c protectors from Screenpatronus - do you know how different the size is? Will a little trimming work or should I purchase the "g" ones?

Buy the G version. Trust me. Too much trimming and still won't look as good.

Thank you for the feedback!! They are cheap enough to purchase again.

If you email them to make one for the 8700g, they will have it available soon. I did that for my digital cam.

I would definitely say go with InvisibleShield once it comes out. How much different are the screen dimensions of the 8700g versus the 8700c? Judging by the pictures, it would look like the current InvisibleShield for the c could work for the g model, although you might not have 100% coverage, you'll at least have the majority of the screen covered.

I bought a screen protector for the 8700c and it came with a premixed application spray bottle. Install took 10 seconds and I've been very happy with it. Now if only I had bought one for my iPod Photo before it got all scratched up.

I'm with you. I've been very happy with my invisibleSHIELD. I especially like their, "Buy once - protect forever" policy. If your shield is damaged or you need to repair/replace your device, just call them up and they will send you a new one for free (well, $3 for shipping). Only catch is you need to mail them back the old one to keep your warranty live for the next replacement.

I always question the quality of a shield that's sold in packs of 3. I mean, if it's really a good, scratch-resistant shield, why are you selling me more than one? Will I need to replace it often?

Well I bought the full body shield for my 8700f from invisibleshield, and I had the bad surprise to see that the design of the protection shield doesn't match at all for the 8700f, it was made for the 8700c. For example the back of the 8700f (battery case) is completely different. So the only thing that I used in this full body shield was the screen protection part that fit quiet well.
So for owners of 8700f, don't by the full body shield but ONLY the screen shield if you don't want to waste money like I did.
As part of that the invisibleshield are the best protection I ever used, very easy also to install it.

I had a freebie 8700c and just got an 8700g yesterday upgrading from a 7100t. Will give 8700g away inside my company to another Cingular user.
Ran some internet tests. Tmobile blew away the Cingular on same sites. Tried a ScreenPatronus for the 8700c on the "G". Had to Trim....recommend ordering special ones for the "G".
Also, I mixed up the cases by accident and found that they too are of slightly different molds and are not interchangeable.

Well, I got some 8700g ones, and whilst they ARE ok, I would not describle the fit as 'perfect'...

Yeah, that's just weak. I mean, if you're going to advertise the protector as a custom cut for the 8700g, then it should fit perfectly. Otherwise, I'd rather go out and get a cut-your-own protector.

Right now I'm using a cut-your-own for my 8700g, which is what I used with my 8700c. As soon as invisibleSHIELD offers an 8700g protector, that's what I'll buy.

I worry about the invisibleSHIELD. Seems semi-permanent. I wonder what happens if/when you remove them after they've been on a *long* time. I.e. I wonder if they leave a markl/attack the plastic on the device?
