Default Security lock

Please Login to Remove!

Hi...New guy here...

I was thinkering with my 8700 and i wanted to activate the security code.You can lock the BB,the problem is that it gives you te option to lock it on 30,45,60 mins,etc.My questions is...is there a way you can lock without selecting any amount of time?

If you mean can the time be unlimited, no, it cannot. You have to select an amoount of time.

If you have "Dial from home screen" set to no, you can press the "K" key quickly to lock the device at any time.

You can also set it to lock upon being holstered regardless of time.

It's all a matter of preference but I don't like it to lock in holster when I am using my 8700 at home or work. But when I am outside and not using it, I always want it locked. I have found setting the side convenience key to Lock to be very handy. (I also have it time-out to Lock after 20 minutes.)

Or you can use alt-return if you do have dialing from the home screen activated. Does the same thing as K.
