Default 8700g number lock key

Please Login to Remove!

So i just got my t-mobile 8700g. I have this issue which I'm not sure is expected behavior. So when I'm typing a message, if I want to type in numbers instead of letters, I'm assuming the NUM key with the up arrow is a num lock key, right? But when I press it, it acts as a CAPS lock key and the little CAPS lock icon appears on the screen.

Is there something wrong with my blackberry or is there some special option I need to set to make this a NUM lock key?

Thanks!

ok, i figured this out myself. if you hit alt and num lock at the same time, it becomes a number lock.

Yep. You don't even have to hit them at the same time, just ALT followed by NUM. To type a single number or symbol just press ALT before the key.

The upper character/symbol is always what you get when you hit Alt plus the key. The arrowunder NUM and CAP is the shift symbol. There is one key that strays from this convention on the 8700c and it's the currency symbol/speakerphone key.
