Does anybody know if the Fortte STi Vertical Pouch will fit the 8700g? It seems like it should with the exception of the hole for the speaker phone. But I know people have been having trouble fitting 8700g's into some of the holsters designed for the 8700c.

Sorry had to chime in here. In this case STi stands for Steve Tomas's invention. The pouch was the result of a combination of design changes I requested from Fortte as a custom unit. They liked them so much they decided to incorporate them into a commercial offering and elected to name it after me.

I thought it was awful nice of them. I didn't even think about Subaru's brand mark.

While I've always thought Fortte's usage of it was kinda corny because I am a Subaru owner, I doubt the acronym "STi" is copyrighted. In Subaru's case it is the acronym for their subsidiary, Subaru Technica International, and for Fortte it is something different. I think it would be a different story if Fortte utilized the pink STi logo.

To answer the original question - yes, it should fit the 8700G.
