Exclamation Nextel 7100i email setup woes

Please Login to Remove!

Nextel was on with me for 2 hrs trying to setup email for me. They didnt win.

They had me add desktop mgr and BB desktop redirector to my pc. No matter what she did with me the redirector kept saying disabled.

She sent a test msg and it got to my outlook express but not to the phone.

Isnt thier someother way I can get my email? I want my isp email and my hotmail, maybe yahoo. is this possible?

I heard something about a web based redirector? cluse and hints appreciated. The Nextel tech support seems clueless!

BIS is the way to go. Redirector requires you leave your computer on and connected to the Internet.

Have you tried forwarding your mail to your [email address] address?

If you want to IM me I can walk you through the process with nextel. I had a rep confuse the Hell out of me but I figured it out on my own. It really is not that complicated. What data plan do you have?

Have you tried to go to www.nextel.com/blackberry

You need to set up your email account on your blackberry yourself before you can access the Blackberry Internet Email service for Nextel.

Open up the browser on your BB under the Links you will see Blackberry Email Setup, it will walk you through the email set up for your blackberry email address.

After that you can go to the link above and set up your POP accounts and others.

My IM is [email address] on MSN if you need help.

Have you set up your blackberry web client? If so log in and resend the service books to your blackberry. once you do that you should see the web browser.

I sent my clients up via email fowarding. If you use and exchange server you need to create a contact in the active director for you blackberry email address and the set your profile to foward emails to the new contact you created.

If you are not using exchange contact your email service provider and ask them how to foward your emails.

If you need help let me know. I set up about 30-40 BB a week. I do not call nextel unless it is a network issue that i need them to reset.

UPDATE!

I called the Sprint/Nextel techs one more time and told them exactly what I didnt have, namely a browser. Took 3 minutes to get it back. yaah!

Told them I couldnt find the link to setup email: they had me send some req from the advanced options section for activation again. did it 6 times.

I know have my home email set up! Thank uyou all for letting me stress out all over the place. I hate when things dont go as easy as they say it should.

Next!
