This looks good. It is too bad that this is only sold with an extra AC charger (which actually has nothing to do with the cradle which is USB powered). It just drives up the price and I don't need an extra charger.

Just placed an order too. What i can't tell from teh pics it also seems to have a small cover plug in the back (left side of the USB cord) and if this is there to attach the AC power charger.

got mine yesterday (even though i won't get my 8700g til later this week) so i haven't actually used it. you'd think the AC would plug into the spot you're talking about, but it won't. the charger has the regular blackberry male plug (i'm with 'cooperpwc' in that it's worthless) and behind the 'cover plug' is a small one prong outlet (i don't know the exact name for it). other than that, it seems built ok.

Just ordered mine today. Normally wouldn't spend that much dinero on a powered stand, since I have about 50 chargers and USB cables, but I can't find just a solo stand for the 8700, and I liked the little coiled mini USB cable that comes with the Wirelessground unit. Discounted right now to $39...

I got it yesterday and it's pretty nice. If you have questions about it just ask....

I got mine today. I see that ti is not an exact fit and seems to be a bit wider by about 1/4 inch on each than the 8700. I wonder if it is also used for another model.

Seidio will release a powered desktop cradle for 8700C/G soon.

I agree 40 bucks is on the high side, but since it does come with an extra AC charger, maybe it's reasonable. But I would like to see them around $25.

The only problem that I have is that I now have the high capacity battery and it slips out of the cradle if you place it in the just right....

Every phone is better with a desktop cradle.

last I check "hotsync" does not exactly mean "powered". But I think 34.95 is a better deal. I may return it and get the siedo ones if they are truly power and sync-able.

Just got my 8700 powered cradle from Wirelessground today, and am shipping it back today. Very disappointed because it really doesn't fit my 8700r at all despite the website's assurances. It's extremely loose with at least 1/4" space on each side; the phone just really "sits" in the opening rather than "fits" in the opening; tap it slightly and the BB falls on the desk. On a hunch I tried the same stand with my 7290 and it fits almost perfectly, right up to the plastic lugs on the stand that match up with the screw holes on the back of the BB. Clearly this stand is made for previous models and is nonetheless being marketed as being compatible with the 8700. To be avoided.

Hi all, check out the pics I just posted of my Wirelessground "8700 cradle" that is not at all compatible with the 8700 and is in fact just a 72xx cradle being marketed for an incompatible model...
