A seller named BargainSeller is selling this unit. Has anyone try this?

It's cheap compared to the one I saw at a different site.
Is this close to this unit from the wirelessground? If you have this cradle charger from wirelessground, how is it? would you recommend it? is it easy to use?

The cable that connects to the BB looks like a pigtale.
The other one from ebay is a straight USB.

Has anyone ever had your phone damaged in some way by using inferior non-oem battery charger? Basically, ebay one sounds like one of those.

The picture shows the charger cord plugged into the side of the BB. So what purpose does the cradle serve?

It just holds the 8700 and hopefully provides a charging cable that is convenient to plug and unplug. (The cradle plugs into the computer USB and another USB cable comes out of the cradle and plugs into the 8700.)

I think it's just convenience.
You don't have to worry about USB cable falling off your table.
It's probably easier to view what's going on your BB while working.
Instead of lifting it up, you can see it.

I'd be a little leary of the fact that all of the 72xx models are listed as compatible with the cradle. I tried using my old 75xx cradle with my 8700 and it was a sloppy fit.

I just received the 8700 cradle from wirelessground yesterday....less than impressed with it. The fit isn't much better than my old 75xx cradle. I like the "pigtail" and included USB cable better than the old OEM style of "snaking" the USB through the bottom of the cradle (I always had to use tape to secure it)...but, if you want to use the AC power adapter, you now have a pigtail (that tucks away nicely) and a 2-foot USB cable that are useless. Would have been nice if the AC adapter plugged into the cradle, or, if the included USB cable plugged into an AC adapter.

Long story short: I would not recommend the wirelessground cradle ($40) and would be concerned that the eBay cradle ($10) isn't really designed for the 8700.

I never thought about the compatibility issue.
After reading your post, I am not buying either of them.
I hope BB can come up with a better cradle than these.

i would be skeptical to use a cheap OEM charger. whent he NEC 525 came out a couple of years ago i had three hundred dollars go down the drown with a crappy OEM car charger

I purchased the cradle from ebay and should get it soon.

I'll post a reply if my brand new TMO 8700g starts smoking after I hook it up to this thing.

I hope by insurance covers the damage.
