Default How do YOU use speed dial?

Please Login to Remove!

For those that use speed dial on their 8700, how do you organize them to keep track of what is where? Do you coordinate a person's name with a letter? Or with a position on the keyboard? Do you assign speed dials all over the keyboard or just a particular row of keys?

I can't decide what would be most efficient / easy to remember so I thought I'd see what the gurus are doing.

Thanks.

Drunk dialing is never good. Funny, but never good.

P for someone named Peter, H for Home, that sort of thing.
One thing to be careful of: Speed dial works from the Home Screen so it's possible to accidentally dial a number in some circumstances if you forget to lock your Blackberry (for example when drunk). I would be careful about putting a serious client on speed dial. Keep it personal.

After years of using a plain old cell phone, I got used to using the numbers (2-9) for speed dialing...so that's what I do with my BB.

example: press and hold "E" (i.e. 2) to call home

Good feedback - thanks. Yes, I'm "sort of" used to using numbers 2-9 because that's the way I did it on my 7100T, but I'm thinking about breaking the habit now...

First letter of contacts first name works great until you realize that you have 2 or 3 or 10 names that start with the same letter. then ya gotta prioritize.
