8700g EDGE tether connection speed Have any of you 8700g owners used your 8700g via a tether to a laptop on T-Mobile? What speeds are you seeing? I'd be interested in seeing how fast EDGE speeds are in your location (assuming that you can get an EDGE connection). TIA for any reports. |

I can sustain about 15 kb/sec transfer on my 8700g, which is decent. The theoretical maximum is 236.8 kbps, or 29.5 kb/sec. I'm not gonna be doing any heavy downloading persay, so I'm pretty happy with it. |

I love it and it has saved my butt a few times when I couldnt get access any other way. In southern California, I typically get 90-100 Kbps up and down. So thats about 4x faster than dialup but only 1/2 of the theoritical limit. -Kerry |

The simple fact is, many times, there isn't a need to open up a new thread, all it takes is a simple search. |
