Default IM data charges

Please Login to Remove!

Being in Canada and not having an option for unlimited data plan. I would like to use an IM client (for MSN) that will not eat up my data if I leave it on, I'm not a crazy chatter, but would like to keep it on in case someone wants to get in touch with me. What is the best IM client to use?

does IM use much data if it is online but not being used?
