Thumbs up Intersesting: MMS and the 8700 (Cingular)

Please Login to Remove!

So...up until now, I knew there wasn't really a way to get MMS messages on the 8700c. At least, that's what everyone was saying...

However, a friend who has Sprint sent me one today, and I got the following SMS instead (addressed to me, from said friend):

I sent you a multimedia message. You can view my message via the internet at viewmymessage.com using message ID: XXXXXX Password: XXXXXX

I just opened my browser to that page and voila!

Sure it's an extra step, and a bit annoying, but honestly, to know that they'll come through SOMEhow, is a welcome sight.

Didn't know if that would be new info for anyone or not...

That is cingular's way of keeping track of what mm messages you recieve it seems a bit primitive and annoying to me.

It definitely is. I'd much prefer them to actually integrate MMS into the service. I believe the 8700 will easily support it.

It sucks, but I'm just glad that I can get them in SOME way, at least...
