I have the 7290 and I synch my tasks from Outlook. I have some 67 tasks and most of them contain quite a bit of information.

The problem is that on the 7290 the tasks get truncated, I assume due to memory limitation.

1) How much memory is committed to tasks?
2) Does anyone have a similiar issue and if so is there a workaround?
3) Does the 8700 fix this issue because of additional memory?

I believe the limit to the 'Notes' field in tasks is 4k. At least that's the limit for a calendar item.

I don't think an 8700 would fix this.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to do another test on a frieds 8700 but I thought that a task of mine sent to his Blackberry arrived complete, i.e. no truncation.

Yes, I have a user with an 8700 with tasks in Lotus Domino larger than 4K which get truncated. I believe it is a limitation on the wireless sync and not specific to what model blackberry you have.

If a company is using a BES server there are many customizable settings. i wonder if this 4k limit can be modified. i've lost way too much information in my Contacts note field. We keep logs of all contact with suppliers and vendors in there, and the oldest is getting chopped off when doing a two way sync to the berry. I've had to do a one way sync from PIM (outlook) to Berry.
