Question 7100g and using as a modem (AT&T settings) help!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I am new to the forum. I read the Blackberry modem FAQ but unsure if the instructions will work for my 7100g.

My current 7100g OS is v4.0.2.56 (platform 1.8.0.143). I will be upgrading to 4.1 from the links in this forum. Is version 4.1 the latest for the device OS or is 4.1 the latest Desktop Software version?

Are the step-by-step settings in the FAQ current for AT&T?

NOTE: When I called into Cingular/ATT support, they warned me about using this method because I don't have a service for this function. I was told not to do this. Hmmm? what's going on?

Thanks in advance.
