I've got two smallish problems with my 8700g that I'm hoping I can get some help with. My only access right now is via BB so I have only done limited searching for the answer first: I've got Opera listed twice in my apps. I tried deleting it via the options>advanced>applications but that leaves me with one icon that I can't remove. I tried wiping my bb via usb, and chose the option to wipe applications but somehow it survived even that. Second: when looking at my messages I see the gold envelope with a 5 denoting 5 new messages, but I can't find them anywhere. I checked SMS, MMS, both email accounts and my tmo.blackberry account and can't find the phantom messages anywhere. Any help? Thank you.

Ok....more weird things with my BB. When I look at my phone log it says "My Number: Unknown" and if I hold down w/1 to call voicemail it says "Invalid Phone Number". Arrrgh! Any suggestions?

How about wiping the device usung Options -> Security then under password select Wipe Handheld.

It will wipeout your device and store only the default application.

Thanks, I'll try this when I get home tonight. I reinput the voicemail speed-dial and that's working now but it still lists my phone number as "Unknown". I even figured out the phantom messages. Turns out they were missed phone calls. Didn't realize you had to click on them to acknowledge.
