I only saw that one time at CNN TV, but that involve a Nokia with the built in infrared, so basically you beam you phone to the parking meter or a soda machine, and it will send the bill to you cell company. Dunno if that's what you are asking for.

I think what he is thinking about is attaching a machine that you wipe the credit card through and letting the BB connect to the credit card company for verification. If that is the case I would imagine that if the machine can attach to a laptop, and then you use the BB to act as a tethered modem it is conceivable. I don't see this device attaching directly to the BB and being able to run the necessary software though, that is hy I say using a laptop.

There are a million different companies that will do this for you. Do a google search and tons will come up. My local wine guy does this straight from any internet phone.
