Default Is EVDO on?

I just replaced my Samsung i600 with a 7130e on VZW. In the top left corner, there's a "1X". Does that mean I'm not connected with EVDO broadband? I live just outside Manhattan, deep within EVDO coverage borders.

Yes, if you were within EVDO coverage it would display 1XEV.
