| T-Mobile 8700g problems Please Login to Remove! Hi all,
i switched from a bb 7290 to a brand new 8700g last week and i have been having the following issue:
every night i leave it on quiet, either cherging or not.
In the morning in go to check my msgs and i usually don't have any, while i do have email in my computer...
If i reset the handheld or turn off/on the wireless network , i then receive all the backed up email and PINs from the past night.
This happens EVERY nght!!!
It's driving me crazy, since i never had this issue with my 7290.
i have the latest T-mobile operative system on it....didn't upgrade it and didn't do anything to it besides installing some applications(Ramble,BB yahoo messenger,OZ msnger, BB messenger , google maps, which are all OFF at night time)
Thanks in advance for your help!

| I have had this same problem about 4 times since I purchased it April 17. I have EDGE all the time and yet my e-mail don't come in nor does my browser work. I go to T-Mobile and send myself Service Books and nothing, only the next morning I get all my backed up e-mail and Service Books. Even with re-setting the phone and turning off/on the radio I still don't get a single thing. I called T-Mo about this but I get the "we're doing maintance/work on that area". Sucks... It mainly happens at night and comes back in the morning. It's happenned twice during the day. Once it was out from Friday afternoon until the next Sunday afternoon. | | Offline

| I'm having a different problems with my 8700g... Sometimes when I plug it into my car charger it will just shut off and won't turn back on until I pull the battery out and put it back in. Other times when I am on a phone call it will just randomly reset. I'm close to calling T-Mobile and asking for a different one as I haven't had this one for a full month and it's already giving me these problems?? Any ideas on what could fix it short of getting a replacement??

| I am having the same issue, I called T-mobile and for some reason I had been kicked off the data network and they had to reset me. It has happened twice now, usually on weekends when I have longer periods where I don't receive an email. | | Offline

| I think it may be the EDGE network. I had my 7230 for 2 years and never had this problem, but then again it ran on the GPRS. Or it could be the unit, seeing how there are only a handful of us that are experiencing this problem. Althogh I'm SOL when it comes to exchanging my unit>>>that's because I super-glued the battery cover on. It was rattling at first, then the business cards helped but due to me taking off my battery out so much due to this problem, broke off the tabs that keep the cover on. I will tell you that my 8700 is nice and tightly fitted. | | Offline

| Yeah, i was thinking it might have to do with EDGE myself.
My 7290 never had issues like this before. Not even my 7100.
Gotta love it.

| My problem with the 8700g is that when I am away from my phone and I recieve a text, the red light only blinks for about 10min then turns back green. Isnt it suppose to stay red until you view the alert? I have missed alot of important text because of this issue, any info? Thanks | | Offline

| The status light on my 7105 also turns green after a while even though I have a new message. Thought that was a little strange.... Red for a new message, then switches to green even though the message has not been checked... Whatever...

| Hmm. I've had my 8700 for a week and get my usual "junk mail" in the morning. I have to keep an eye on that before the 14 days is up. yeah, I'm still trying it out before I stick with it past the 14th day. | | Offline

It turns red for a few minutes - and then goes back to normal behavior. | | Offline
