Question How can I expand my call history

Please Login to Remove!

I send and recieve alot of calls each and every day. There are some very important phone numbers that I need to keep but when I go back to my call history they are gone.

It seems that the call history is very limited. How can I expand it for a longer period of time

I believe there is a call logging feature in the Phone options that places a log in the Messages area of the phone.

Phone --> Options --> Call Logging and you can choose what call you want to appear in your message list. This will keep a record untill you delet them. Hope this helps.

Actually, the call log can grow extremely large. Unlike everything else on the BlackBerry, the call log does not have to option to delete items after x number of days.

This makes the #s show up in your message list. Is there a way to make it show up in the call log in the phone application and just make the list longer than the last 30 #s?

I just sent these tips out to my users yesterday, maybe they'll help you:

Tip 1 - 'Hide' call logs from showing up (and mixing in) your email messages:
1. Go into the Phone application, click the trackwheel, and click Options.
2. Click Call Logging and depending on your Blackberry model do one of the following:
- Change "Show Logs in Message List" to 'No', OR,
- Change "Show these call log types in Message List" to 'None'
3. Click the wheel and save the changes. Now your phone calls will still be logged, but they will be 'hidden' within the Messages application (to view them in the Messages application use the shortcut Alt-P as d_fisher stated)

Tip 2 - View Call Logs (and call history) in the phone application (goes along with Tip 1)
1. Go into the phone aplication, click the trackwheel and click Options.
2. Click General Options, then change the 'Phone List View' to 'Call Log' (Hint: highlight the field and press the spacebar to change the field)
3. Click the wheel and save the changes.

To view history for a caller, highlight the phone call (in the phone application), click the wheel, and click either 'Open' or 'View History'. You will see the dates and times you have called someone (or someone called you).

I use Outlook's "journal" feature to log calls at my desk. I wish my BB's call log could automatically create a journal entry, sync'd wirelessly.

Short of that, is there a way to export my wireless call logs and notes, short of forwarding every log entry as an email?
