Our company is on BES4.0 and we have got our first 8700G blackberry. We have transfered from a 7230 to 8700 successfully. Everything works apart from there is no email settings in messages\options. Only General Options and Email reconciliation are there. But when i place the SIM back in the 7230 device the email settings and email filters return.
Has anyone any ideas why this is occuring.

Did you reactvate the account on the new BlackBerry? Those settings only show up after the device has been activated.

When I have had missing options in the past, specifically with Address Book Reconciliation, I have gone into the Service Books, deleted Desktop [SYNC], and then undeleted it, removed the battery for 30 seconds, popped it back in and the options were there. This is what Cingular Data Support had me do once to fix a similar issue.

You can also have your Admin resend service books or manually regenerate an encryption key from Desktop Manager. That will resend the service book.

And since it's an email option that missing, delete the Desktop [CMIME] service book.

[SYNC] is for PIM synchronization.

Also, instead of resending them, sometimes it works to just undelete it (click the thumbwheel and choose undelete will undelete the last deleted service book)
