My 8700r just had a long and initimate encounter with the pavement. The flimsy holster it comes with is to blame. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement faceplate/housing and how hard is it to replace? I'm also looking for a more secure holster but I want to fix the housing first.

that just happened to mine the other day as well...
but the cosmetic damage is minimal

rogers however was already sending me a replacement unit... so i'm in luck

I just had a good experience under warranty with Rogers too. They don't look at the unit before you return it. They send you a replacement unit by UPS and then you return your unit by UPS with a label that they include. Not sure how they will react if it is obviously your fault....
Replacement housings are still not available. Here is the link for Promobility which will get them eventually (and which has the advantage of being located in Canada).
Better holster? Seidio Swivel Clip for the 8700c (works perfectly with the 8700r). I have it and love it. Lots of threads on here; this is the review from lgreenberg.

The housing is very easy to replace.

I saw an 8700g housing on ebay that sold for 65, once the word got out they shot up in price.

I had the same experience while waiting for my Seidio which arrived yesterday. MUCH better holster.
