Default Key lock on power down?

Please Login to Remove!

Blackberry newbie...

I've set the convenience key for keyboard lock, no prob. Is there a way to have the keyboard default to lock when the phone goes to "sleep"?

I think that you can in a round-about way. In Options, Security Options, General Settings set the Security Timeout to 2 minutes. Then In Options, Screen/Keyboard set the Backlight Timeout also to 2 minutes.
I'm not going to test this myself (I use the side convenience key to lock on demand and have my security timeout set to 20 minutes), but if you do the above then in theory the same 2 minutes of inactivity should simultaneously trigger both functions.
EDIT: This will work for a password-protected Lock; if you just want a Keyboard Lock, I don't think that the Security Timeout will do that.

I used to have my lock on a key, then i just set it up to lock when it enters the holster.

options->security options->general settings->lock handheld upon holstering

Thanks guys. But I just want a keyboard lock. I don't use the holster and don't need to password protect it right now.

Then the answer is that you're out of luck. The keyboard will not lock on powerdown. Since you seem to use the function a lot, I strongly suggest setting the side convenience key to Keyboard Lock.
