Question AOL Email Access on TMO BIS - 05-13-2006, 12:09 PM

OK...Before the moderators decied whether I should be baked or steamed for asking this question, I would like to state that I did search on this topic.

Seriously...

My father has a TMO 8700g and would like to access his AOL email. I know, I know, I have tried to get him off of AOL for years now, but he still uses that account for some things.

I have tried a variety of settings with both the browser and T-Zones and I get so far only to receive a 502 Gateway error. I have tried mobile.aol.com and mobile1.aol.com with no success.

On AOL's website they have instructios for TMO BB users that are not correct. These instructions refer to the messaging link on T-Zones and while there is an AIM option, there is not mail option.

If ANYONE has any hints or thoughts on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

set his email up in his BIS account - it polls every 15 mins and he won't need to go through the website and enter his username/password anytime he wants to check his email

I thought you could only forward to your BB email. Can you setup AOL as a separate account on BIS? Do you just use the email address to access?

Thanks!

No.

Yes.

>Do you just use the email address to access?

Yes, and it should work. Just like adding any other email account to blackberry.

Hmmm... I didn't follow the 2nd thread all the way down. I will try setting it up in BIS. Thanks!

I've got a load of clients I've successfully set up with BIS on AOL accounts and you'll have no problem.
