Posted in another section and didn't get much help so I'm hoping ill get a better response here.Im using desktop redirector and synchronizing using desktop manager. I have an address book stored on my 8700. Is there a way to override the address book thats currently on the devise and use the new address book from my outlook? Ive tried synchronizing multiple times but i cannot get the items to delete from the bb and i dont want to go through each contact and do it manually. thanks for the help.

I believe you can sync using export and settimg from desktop. Check the DM PIM configuration. That should overwrite the address book in the BB.

If I understand right, you pretty much want to get rid of the contacts on your BB and then sync the ones from Outlook to your device, correct?

In Desktop Manager, go into Backup/Restore and click the Advanced button. Hightlight the Address Book and click Clear.

Sync again and this time make sure when it finds changes you tell it to copy the Outlook contacts to the device.

Might be good to make a full device backup before you start this, too, just in case.

i got the address book removed but now for some reason i cannot get the bb to read the address book on my computer. ive tried to export and sync but nothing is working.

Are you going into Intellisync and then Configure PIM? Make sure Address Book is checked, and while highlighted, click on 'Choose' and select Outlook as the source, and also on the same screen, choose whether to import, export or synchronize. Synchronize or import should work. Play around with them. Once you get them over, you may want to select Synchronize after the first import. Then back up two screens and choose 'Synchronize Now'

im going to configure pim. then i selcet the address book and 1st i choose sychronize, i also tried import and export. i select ok and then sync. and i still dont get the address book loaded back onto the devise. please help. thanks

i got it to work, i had to delete the file it was reaing from in outlook and find it again.thanks for the help
