hi,
>> i am using 7100r as a net browser for sometime and as laptop modem..........
but i am very much disaapointed with its speed to open web pages like ebay, banking etc..........

>> in contrast , i find Treo 650 much faster as a browser and as modem for laptop ( connects at 195 - 200mbp )

>> Sony Edge card GC- 83 gives me speed of 217 mb as modem.

i am not interested in emails but only browsing web, so what if i switch to 8700.............

>> can i browse web faster with 8700 than 7100, treo 650 and sony edge GC card.
in other word how will u rate performance of 8700 as browser.

i need ur advice befor i spend money on 8700

Absolutely. The 8700 uses the EDGE network and is much faster than your GPRS 7100r, assuming you in an EDGE coverage area.

I believe your speed should be measured in kb, not mb.
