What are you trying to sync between the PC and BlackBerry? Depending on how your BES server is configured, you do not need the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

I'm trying to sync the personal contacts in outlook ( contacts under personal folders).

Any ideas?

have you tried sending a PIN to another user? Are you getting a red X when sending emails? See if you get a red X when sending PINs too.

Regenerate encryption on the blackberry. Get BES admin to recreate state database if needed.

So you're getting the red X then?

The "format not valid" appears under "Message Status"?

Can you send PIN 2 PIN?

you tried to reactivate on the blackberry or through the desktop manager on the PC?

Try to re-run the encryption from desktop manager on the PC.

Keep remembering to pop the battery + SIM card out too, sometimes the change doesn't take affect unless that's done.

In Desktop Manager, double-click Redirector Settings. Click on the Security tab. Choose Generate Keys Manually, then click on 'Generate' and it will ask you to move the mouse around while it creates the new encryption key.

Make sure the Mail profile that desktop manager is using is one that points to the Exchange mailbox and not your personal folder...You can still sync with a personal folder for contacts, but desktop manager itself has to be pointing to the Exchange server.
