I read the post below about using the bBerry as an external modem to a laptop when an internet connection is not feasable. I see that desktop manager is necessary for this, only problem is that I use a mac and desktop manager does not run on osX. Is there anything I can do to set up my powerbook to use the blackberry as an external modem without using desktop manager?

No. There is a dedicated Mac Users Corner with lots more information on what you can not do with a Mac and a BlackBerry.

No Mac modem drivers. Not now, anyway.
