Default BB Software 4.1 Finally Available--NOW PROBLEMS!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I'll try to make this quick. I downloaded the new Version 4.1 for my 7100t (from My T-Mobile) and i installed it to my BB via my computer but now i've lost my browser! I tried a couple of times to reinstall & repair the upgrade with the software i downloaded but with no results. I even downgraded the software version back to 4.0 but the browser icon doesn't show up there either now. If you check "Applications" in settings, it shows that there IS a browser installed on the BB but i don't see how i can access it. I also noticed that the Email icon has changed and that it is called "Enterprise Activation"?! What is that all about? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!!

To get your browser back, go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table and select Register Now. This will resend your browser, download fun and setup internet email icons. Also, log into your My T-Mobile account, click on Setup Internet Email and click on Send Service Books.

Enterprise Activation is for those who are on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server thru their company.

If you've done all that and still don't see the icon, hold the ALT key (below the ZX key) and click the trackwheel and select Show All from the drop down menu.

Erica, I want to ask you a question about this post above...

I just got my new 7105T from T-Mobile, and mine appears to have come with the 4.1.0.309 OS installed already. I was on the phone with the BB support last night, and was going through the setup of my phone with them. I clicked on the "Host Routing Table" link that was bolded, and when I did it sent me all the stuff you referred to. It also took away the "Enterprise Activation" icon. Then, by accident, I clicked the "Host Routing Table" link again. It then went through the whole process again, except this time, it brought back the "Enterprise Activation" icon. What does that mean, and is there a way I can get back to where when I originally clicked the "Host Routing Table" link and it removed that icon? I don't think I'll ever need to use the "Enterprise Activation" because it's for personal use...

Also, do I need to download anything else like the service books or whatever? I haven't done the "Setup Internet E-Mail" yet either...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What's the problem? That you want to remove the Enterprise Application Icon? Click on the ALT key and press the Trackwheel. You will get a menu allowing you to hide the icon.

Are their other problems?

What are you trying to do that isn't working?

You can SignIn at www.tmobile.com, choose the Phones option, and the "Set up Email" option. Then click Service Books at the left side of the screen. This will immediately fix the loss of Browser which has occurred on all 4 of our 7100's after updating to 4.1. (You would have hoped that RIM or Tmobile would have tested the release - but it is easily fixed by sending Service Books.

FYI - You may want to take a manual backup of the device BEFORE upgrading to 4.1. The upgrade procedure backs up the device but we had One in Four 7100's that was unable to automatically restore the AddressBook after the upgrade. A manual restore was also unsuccessful as the automatic backup seemed to be corrupt. The device had to be re-sync'd with the last Outlook data.

I don't know if it can be totally removed but you can hide it by highlighting the icon, click the ALT key and trackwheel and choose "Hide Icon" from the drop down menu.
