Hi..What happens when messages on my mail server (i.e. my yahoo account) are bigger than the size limit of my BlackBerry mailbox.

For example, I got a blackberry today (7290). I have not set it up yet. Eventually, I want to forward my emails from Yahoo to my blackberry. I use about 10% of my 2 gig of space on my yahoo account.

What will happen when i forward yahoo to my blackberry. will it create an overload? Please let me know.

please..someone reply..thanks! Do i need to delete a large chunk of my emails at yahoo so when i first set up the forwarding of the popmail to the blackberry, an overload doesn't occur..
or does it even matter how many emails i already have on my yahoo email system?

BIS tops out at 5 MB for attachments. If you're using BIS 1.8 then the size of your mailbox is determined by you carrier/plan. Typically 25 MB but they can go 50 or 100 MB. Large attachments are stored on the server and brought to the handheld on demand rather than storing all in memory. BIS 2.0 stores on the original mailserver so the mailbox size is not an issue.

If you fill up your mail box on 1.8 it just stops taking in new email until you free up some space.

Do you really want your entire existing Yahoo mailbox transferred to your Blackberry? If not, prior to activating your BIS account create a new folder in Yahoo Mail and transfer emails already received by Yahoo to that. BIS will only poll on your inbox.

I wouldn't otherwise worry too much. Your BIS mailbox limit will be much greater (probably 10 times) that of your Yahoo limit. And you're only using 10% of the Yahoo limit.
