Lightbulb New Verizon 7130e user needs ACT!2006 sync assistance

Please Login to Remove!

My employer made me trade in my Treo 650 for a BlackBerry 7130e. My question and problem is: I use ACT!2006 extensively and am unsure of availability of program(s) to sync ACT with the BlackBerry. Any guidance/help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard 1950

To synchronize ACT! information to your BlackBerry® device, please consider Handheld Contact, a third-party ACT! Add-on Solution.

Thank you very much for your reply. However, at $239 /year subscription, I do not consider that a viable alternative, it's more a rip off, especially considering the price of the BlackBerry, ACT!2006 and Act For Palm software.

I was hoping to find a more workable, reasonable solution.

Again, thank you,
Richard 1950

I'm sure there's an option in Desktop Manager Intellisync settings to sync PIM data with certain versions of ACT. I don't use ACT so I don't know what the restrictions are with version numbers but go in to Desktop Manager, click Intellisync, click on 'PIM', highlight contacts or calendar, click 'Choose' and you'll have a list of apps to select from. I'm sure it's in there!!!

Take a look at Companionlink.

It isn't as powerful as HandHeld Contact, but works well.

Default BBAdmin and Thumbs

Thanx a lot guys. Companionlink looks like a reasonable solution and I'll play around with the Desktop Manager Intellisync settings.

I'll second the Companionlink product. You can synch with just the Desktop Manager software, but it's painfully slow if you have alot of contacts. Companionlink is so much faster....I synchronize 4,700 contacts (with Notes) from ACT!6.0 in less than 5 minutes. It used to take over 2 hours using Desktop Manager.

When you use ACT, can you configure it so that it lets you choose the sent from email address/account?

Thanks!

I also use CompanionLink with Act 6.0 and have no problems with it. It is much faster than using the Intellisync program.

Read the CompanionlLink instructions as how to set up your Blackberry. I did mine wrong first and used the CompanionLink sync. Found out it was not the recommended way to sync.

If there is a downside, it takes longer for my 7130e to start-up if I take the battery out and do a hard reboot.

Do you recommend companionlink Express or Professional?

Thanks!
