Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Hello, to those that received a free 8700c from RIM/Cingular for downloading BES express, are you experiencing any problems with your bb? It seems like the keyboard is tight in the middle. The q,w,a,s,p,l,o and delete keys on the outer edges seem to 'click' ok, but the middle keys, esp. The t,y,g,h,v,b and space keys are so tight they almost feel slightly recessed and they do not 'click' properly. Any ideas?

There are half a dozen threads talking about the extremely tight keyboards that were released at first, and then the loose keyboards released later. Search for the word "keyboard".

Yes, I know this. I am asking if the shipment of "free blackberry's" are possibly refurbished and if this is prevalient throughout those shipped. And seeing as I received my free blackberry just last week, it wouldn't really qualify as one "released at first," now would it?

Refurbished does not necessarily mean inferior quality, as a matter of fact I happen to think that they are more than likely a bit better quality since they have been gone over in detail to fix whatever it was that may have been wrong. And I stress may simply because sometimes some providers are quick to replace an unit that turns out was not bad to begin with, I know it has happened to me. I had a BB that was giving me problems and I could not get going and tech support tried their best, finally they shipped a replacement, that same evening with the help of the forum I solved the configuration problem.

As far as the tight or the loose keyboards, again that does not mean that it is defective just diferent. As long as it responds the proper way I would not worry. At the very worst I might take it apart and clean it with alcohol to see if it is somehow something sticky that can be cleaned off.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll try it. (very carefully, I might add...)
